WACHEZAJI TAIFA STARS WADAIWA KUTOJITUMA

Kampala.

Kenya’s surviving Chasemate Annabel has been Evicted from the Big Brother house following her fellow country mate Huddah who got the boot in the first week of the reality show. Annabel who has been up five times managed to survive four times but as fate would have it, she didn’t make it beyond her fourth time just like Natasha and Pokello. Does this mean that Africa can only save a Chasemate only four times? May be! Annabel spent a total of 63 days on the Chase and was definitely on a lucky streak until today courtesy of the dreaded Evictions. Her Eviction also means that Kenya is officially out of the Chase! All the best for Annabel, life continues!

Alitishia maisha, "I feel like stabbing him. A nigga like that deserves to die"...

CHAN: Uganda 3 Tanzania 1
newvision
CHAN Championship
Second Leg at Namboole Stadium

Uganda 3 (Kalanda 7', Majwega 48', 60') Tanzania 1 (Kiemba 17')
By Kizza Joseph

NAMBOOLE - Impressive Brian Majwega scored twice to see Uganda past Tanzania to qualify for the Africa Nations Championship that will be held in South Africa early in 2014.

Striker Frank Kalanda fired the hosts into the lead early but the visiting Tanzanian side leveled matters moments later to usher in a heated encounter at Namboole Stadium.

But Ugandan midfielder Majwega’s brace in the second half snuffed out any linger of hope for the visitors and at the same time ensuring that a precious nine-year unbeaten home record remains intact.

The result leaves the Taifa Stars with Lady Luck to blame for their misfortunes considering that the goalposts of luck inevitably had shifted to the Uganda Cranes’ end right from the first leg a fortnight ago when coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojević’s men carried a one-goal advantage back home.

But matters were not done yet for Uganda ahead of Saturday’s crucial encounter. While the visitors flew in with an only single objective of nothing short of a win, the hosts knew any draw would float them through.

Even with that comfort, Micho’s home-based players started off on a high under skin-ripping temperatures, thanks to an unforgiving late afternoon sun.

They probed early and their opponents felt the grueling intensity of a high mountain-climb task when the punishment came in the seventh minute courtesy of a Kalanda lethal header.

From a corner kick, the Tanzanian defence was caught in slumber, giving the perfect opportunity for the fluid striker to scramble his way through and nod in past Juma Kaseja who immediately turned his fury on his defenders.

Despite the slope of the challenge having gotten steeper with that goal down, the Tanzanians never seemed to back down. No doubt it was with that sense of resilience and attack-mindedness that they pulled through and equaled the score ten minutes later.

Dangerman Mrisho Ngassa shook his marker off down the left wing, cut in a measured cross to Amri Kiemba who escaped the attention of the Cranes defence to lob the ball over a stranded Hamza Muwonge.

The equalizer did well to resurrect the confidence of coach Kim Poulsen’s men who investigated the defence of the hosts more than ever. Ngassa proved more lethal on the ball, causing panic attacks within the Cranes’ back line.

And it was during that time that the home fans were saved from brief moments of scare, hands nimbly clasping heads and initial noise that had gripped the stadium dying out, understandably so.

Half-time certainly came as a breather of relief for the hosts who had come close to conceding a second goal when Ngassa’s shot got blocked.

Whatever instructions went around back in the dressing rooms surely did change the dimension of the game.

Both sides came back stronger with more attacking intensity. But it was near déjà vu when Majwega made no mistake with the spot kick after a lurking ball had ricocheted off the woodwork and landed on Kelvini Yondoni’s arm.

It was even more misery for the Taifa Stars when the penalty taker tapped in a third for his side on the hour mark. At that point, the Tanzanians, however hard they pushed on, almost knew it was game over for them considering how clean the hosts are on home turf.

From then on, the Namboole crowd rediscovered its voice in fullness, a reaffirmation that the task was more than done.

Late on, Cranes’ Simon Okwi replaced Joseph Mpande who had had a quiet game upfront.

It was a brutal kill for Micho and his men but that only opens up the home-based side to the reality that there is an even harder task that awaits them in South Africa.

For now, it’s celebration for Uganda.

Natasha-and-Wati-213x300
The country’s Big Brother Africa (BBA) Stargame representative Watipaso Kulemeka was the centre of attraction during Natasha Tonthola’s homecoming party at Zanzi in Lilongwe on Friday.
His cousin Alinafe had to take care of Wati alongside some of his friends as some revellers laughed at him. However, it was an embarrassment for the BBA The Stargame housemate who also came to his homecoming party last year at the same venue whilst drunk forcing fans to start shouting Wati waledzera.
But before he blacked out, Wati was cheered by the audience as he jumped on stage to hug Natasha.
The Malawian dude who argued with some of the housemates in the house due to his drinking spree including late Nigeria’s singer Goldie, went flat out and could not sense anything even when he was being dragged outside.
During the party which went on until the early hours of Saturday, Natasha who came to the party with her daughter Comfort thanked fans for coming in large numbers to welcome her and she hailed Malawians for voting for her.
“I tried my level best, I wanted to bring the money home but this is a game and so here I am. I am thankful that people are happy with the way I played the game in the house and I was myself and represented Malawi and Africa well, that is why I was given the nickname Mama Africa,” she said before showcasing her dancing skills on stage.
At one time, she danced with urban musician Armstrong, who performed at the party alongside Lulu and Nyau king Tay Grin.
Meanwhile Natasha and Fatima reunited outside the house on Saturday at Blue Elephant in Blantyre during Natasha’s homecoming party which attracted an impressive crowd.
The two said they were friends and that there was no beef between them.
Natasha later presented what she called a gift to Fatima to show people they were friends. But Fatima left the party early as Natasha kept on interacting with the fans and posing for pictures.

ARREST WARRANT FOR FORMER WRESTLER RIC FLAIR

Arrest warrant issued for famous pro wrestler Ric Flair. (Getty Images)
Mecklenburg County, N.C. judge has issued an arrest warrant for pro wrestling star Ric Flair on the grounds of failing to pay spousal support to his estranged wife. Flair, born Richard Fliehr, allegedly owes $32,352.51 from his estranged wife Jacqueline Beems.

Oh, but hold on. The story doesn't end there. Beems turned herself over to authorities on Tuesday for harassing Flair's current girlfriend. She was charged with a misdemeanor and released on $500 bond. Her attorney dismisses Flair's allegations that she harassed Wendy Kidder, Flair's current girlfriend, in up to 50 texts and five voicemails.

Flair has not disputed that he owes Beems $32,000, a result of an order to pay her $4,000 per month after she filed for legal separation last year. However, he noted that he has been hospitalized in the wake of the drug-induced death of his son Reid earlier this year and has been unable to work. Flair indicated to the UPI that he intends to pay Beems the full sum, potentially as soon as this week.

“The reason I didn’t pay my ex-wife the 32 grand is because my son died and I was in the hospital for a month,” Flair said, according to the UPI. “I was in the hospital for a month with a blood clot. I didn’t go to work for three months.”

Pregnant Zara Phillips will not continue horse-riding after change of heart

Zara Phillips will not continue horse-riding until after she has given birth, it has been announced.

A spokesperson for the Queen's grand-daughter said that Zara's pregnancy – it is thought that she is in her third month with her first child with husband Mike Tindall – is progressing 'happily and healthily'.

But she confirmed that the royal equestrian is being ‘sensible’ and has cancelled all trials until after the birth early next year.
"The fact is that all of Zara’s horses have now qualified for the events she wishes to enter them for next year," said the spokesperson.

"She has done so well already this season, she does not actually need to compete any more. Given that she is pregnant, she has decided to cancel the rest of her entries for the year."

Zara's representative emphasised that there are no complications with the pregnancy. "As we said previously, she is feeling fine and is following all medical advice from her doctors. She is just being sensible about this."

The pregnant royal has clearly had a change of heart as just days ago it was confirmed by Buckingham Palace that "It's business as usual at the moment", and that the 32-year-old would continue to compete in horse-riding events.

While the NHS advises women not to take part in 'inherently risky' sports while expecting, Zara competed at the Barbury International Horse Trials just one day before the Palace announced the happy news that she and Mike were expecting their first baby together.

She went on to take part in the Brightling International Horse Trials in Sussex after the revelation. Her representative said at the time that she would continue to do so for several weeks at least.

The new arrival, due in the New Year, will be 16th in line to the throne, and a fourth great grandchild for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh — the others are Savannah and Isla Phillips, daughters of Zara's older brother Peter, and Kate Middleton's expected baby .

Zara does not hold a royal title and is not an HRH. After her marriage to Mike in July 2011, she decided to keep her maiden name, and her children will be titled Miss or Master Tindall.
